Mr. Spencer moved at an early age from England to Hong Kong, where he focused on international tax planning and international asset protection planning. He has worked with many high net worth families in a number of countries, helping them to secure their personal and commercial interests while mitigating taxes on income, wealth, and transfers. He has also assisted many high net worth families with the establishment and operation of family offices for shared wealth management.
In the 1990s, Mr. Spencer spearheaded strategic banking relationships in South Africa and throughout the African continent. He specialized in providing corporate and government financing for oil exploration and production, mineral extraction, and military equipment acquisitions.
While living and working in Africa, Mr. Spencer acquired a passion for big game hunting and a specialty in tracking rhinoceros in their native habitat. He is recognized by the Maasai people for his pronounced hunting skills and is the subject of several BBC and Discovery network documentaries on the need for preserving rangeland for big game.
Mr. Spencer obtained his LL.B. at the University of Cambridge and his LL.M. at Columbia University.
